Newer Slots: Part 1

Gotta have slots? Slots pro Gayle Mitchell reveals the hottest new games
coming to a casino near you!

This three-part article will give you a preview of the newer slots available from the innovative slot designers. We will take a sneak peek at 8 slot designers. Williams, Aristocrat and Bally are featured in this article.

Williams introduces new titles sure to be instant classics including: The Big Money Cheese Caper, Free Spin Frenzy and a follow-up to one of WMS' most popular games, a new game called Leprechaun's Gold 2: Gettin' Lucky.

Nine games will debut featuring the Can't Lose bonus technology, which guarantees the player a winner when they cash in their Can't Lose spins, including The Whole Enchilada, Lemon Lime Twist and Deja vu Diamonds.

Additionally, nine new games featuring the patented Scroll Top bonus technology, which offers a scrolling paytable offering higher payouts to players during the free-spin bonus rounds. Scroll Top games include Super Shot 7's, Unlock the Treasure and Cherry Blast.

WMS is debuting its first four-reel mechanical reel gaming device with a unique series of games: Houdini Reels of Mystery, Hot Hot Jackpots and Robin Hood's Sherwood Treasure.

This new gaming device includes enhanced features such as an extended Reel Illuminator to create an eye-catching light show that accentuates bonus features and special wins.

And, the four new Ring Series titles are, After Shock, Thunder Struck, Ring of Fire and Wild Avalanche. Each Ring Series game features unique bonusing experiences including bonus credits, free spins and multipliers all displayed on the large top box ring visible across the casino floor.

Finally, for its mechanical reel product line, WMS offers a fourth bonusing feature. Three new games based on the popular video titles Jackpot Party, Jackpot Stampede and Big Money Show feature bonus rounds displayed on a brilliant color Dotmation screen.

Progressive Game Offerings: wide-area-progressive games based on the popular movie titles of celebrity icon Clint Eastwood: two five-reel video games for A Fistful of Dollars progressive jackpot -- Wild Shot and Wanted.

WMS has two new video progressive games featuring penny denominations for the Monopoly Money progressive jackpot: Own It All and All in the Cards.

These new titles represent WMS' first low denomination progressive games.

Building on past successes, WMS is introducing eight exciting new video games to include Monopoly Cash Flow, Monopoly Reel Riches, Men In Black, Riches of the Universe and Hollywood Squares--Premier Night. In addition, four new dual-screen game themes include Password, Reel 'Em In Big Bass Bucks, Road to Riches, and Goldfish.

Aristocrat is sending a load of penny slots your way and some famous names also.
Aristocrat's 'signature' systems include Hyperlink--4-level progressive slots, Bonus Bank--a series of bonus games available for an additional bet, and Reel Power--where the players buy reels rather than paylines allowing all wins to be paid as scatter jackpots.
Now, factor in Super Reel Power with a multitude of added combinations for an ante wager.
For this wager, you jump up your opportunities from 5 symbols on three rows to five rows allowing another 2000 ways to win. Look for Game With No Name and Asian Princess in this category.

Pele is featured in the Hyperlink system slot Legendary Goals and you can cross swords with Zorro offering a wild Z symbol. Spell ZORRO across the screen and you trigger a bonus round to win credits, multipliers and free spins. In addition, Loco Loot combines the Reel Power and Hyperlink systems while offering two monitors.

More paylines is the key to this slot manufacturer's success as 50 Lions and Star Drifter proves, offering 50 paylines at a buy rate of two lines/credit. Utilizing five reels and placing four symbols on each reel instead of three makes way for more paylines and free-spins.

Add Nerds Gone Wild and Bowling Night to these jumbo-line games.

Money Honey is the third entry in the Bonus Bank category following Mr. Cashman and L'il Lucy slots.
After a long hiatus, Aristocrat has returned with a reel-spinning series, the SCX Stepper offering mostly 3-reels with bonus events occurring on a fourth reel or as a video bonus.

Some bonus features operate as a second program that can present a jackpot-doubling win.
Progressive are not forgotten in this new mix as Looney 7's signs on using the Reel Power system of buy-a-reel with pictured symbols combining for a group of winning credits.

Again, a separate top-box program will determine your added bonus credits.

By now, we know that Aristocrat invariably will take slot players to new plateaus, new slot formats and new experiences offering more of everything--bonuses, free spins, multipliers, paylines, betting options and winning combinations. As usual, they do not disappoint.
Bally Gaming: the best new Bally version, in my opinion, and perfect for those who love nostalgia is S&H Green stamps, the merchandise stamps program.

With this version, slot players are awarded Green Points for landing certain combos during the video slot game. Points accumulated can be printed out on a ticket and then redeemed at a kiosk linked to an internet shopping site where you choose merchandise based on points in Silver, Gold or Platinum categories. Input your name and address and the prize is sent by mail.

Additionally, Great Adventures offers the same procedure, but with travel award categories of Silver $300, Gold $600 and Platinum $1199. You receive a ticket accompanied by a phone number to call for reservations. And away you go!

I like the multi-game series Bally has put together and they have the wide selection of slot versions to do just that.

Game Maker 2, multigame units offer dual screens utilizing super-size 19 inch monitors with a selection of games such as Quarter Million$, Cash for Life, EVO video slots plus various popular reel spinners.
Cartoon Jackpot Link partners Bally's cartoon themed slots into one multi-denomination, multi-casino link with a top jackpot resetting at $100,000.

Includes Betty Boop, Blondie series and the latest--Rocky & Bullwinkle series.
Rocky & Bullwinkle series titles are Cash Board, Super Frenzy and Lucky Wheel.

Other creations from Bally include:

Quarter Million$ Hee Haw: from the popular country music TV show featuring Buck Owens, Roy Clark, Minnie Pearl (featured in the bonus round) and Junior Samples.

Pong: a multiline video slot with a bonus top screen duplicating the arcade video game. The bonus round involves a skill element by allowing the player to play Pong against the computer for the bonus award.

Play Lee: three-line reel slot with a bonus theme featuring Liberace while Play Ray Charles: features the beloved Ray Charles.

Chippendales and an addition to the Saturday Night Live series featuring Mike Myers rounds out the new Bally line that, as expected, is stunning.
