"Progressive Play" in Blackjack?

Henry,

Have you ever heard of "progressive play" in blackjack. (ie. if you bet $5 and lose, on your next hand you bet $10. If you lose again you bet $20. If you lose again you bet $40. And so on. After you have won a hand, you back to your original bet, in this case $5.) If you have, what is your take on this way of play.

Dear Adam,

Yes, and it's a loser. Doubling your bet following aloss is nothing more than the Martingale Betting Progression which was devloped hundreds of years ago. You will have many small winning sessions but one disasterous losing session. It didn't work back then and it doesn't work today.

Regards, Henry Tamburin
