Gayle: I have a question about Progressive Slots especially those placed by IGT. Is there a "master" RNG located some where that controls all the machines on the same Progressive network that appoints a winner or is every Progressive machine independent and has its own RNG that is capable of selecting the big winner?
If so, is it not possible (tho unlikely) to have two machines select the big money winner at the same time? Earl.
Earl: Two factors in play here: the RNG program is selecting different
combinations even when the machine is idle and secondly, the slot must be played at that exact time to produce a winner. Therefore with
millions of combinations, it is unlikely there would be two winners at precisely the same time. Each slot has it's own RNG program running independently not via a 'master' control. Gayle.
