Not to make a big thing of this, but...
In your article, "Lay Bets" says in part.. "On the don't side you have the
advantage after the come out, so you always have to bet more to get less."True, but aren't there some further considerations?
If I just make a flat Don't Pass or DC bet, odds are in my favor a little
over 3:1 (the way I understand it) to get by the 'killer' 7 or 11, not
factoring in the 2 or 3 craps. Once I'm by the 7 or 11, odds remain in my
favor and the pay out is greater than true odds. Now I'm probably missing something but this seems to me to look like a very
positive expectation.Of course, I'll be honest and admit that in the short run (usual player time) I've been creamed as often (hopefully not more so) as I've won, or
there abouts.

HI Ed
Betting on the dont come doesnt turn positive until AFTER the point is established. Before the point the advantage is always with the casino. In fact, once the point is determined, the casino will let you remove your bet because they know that they just lost their advantage.
Also on the don't pass (with no odds) the casino still has a slight overall advantage, almost the same as their pass line advantage. On the flat bet you only get the flat bet back and the casino keeps the 7/11 loss as the vig - just the opposite of the pass line where it keeps the craps loss as their vig.
True odds is only applicable to adding odds to a flat bet, and you can't add odds before the point is made.
Good luck,
Larry
